SMS / Text Messaging Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Draft — pending owner and legal approval. Some commitments here (including the post-cancellation deletion period, setup-fee refund terms, and liability limits) are still under review and may change before they are final.

VentCRM includes two-way business texting: booking confirmations, appointment reminders, on-my-way messages, review requests, payment receipts, and replies. This page explains how it works and who is responsible for what.

How texting works

  • Messages are transmitted by a texting provider (Twilio) from a phone number registered to your business. That registration (A2P 10DLC in the US) is part of setup — it’s what keeps your messages from being filtered as spam.
  • Text-message usage is billed at cost — carrier and provider fees passed through without markup.
  • Inbound replies are stored in your system’s inbox so your team sees them; they are not read by us except when you ask for support.

Consent is the operator’s responsibility

You may only text people who have given your business the appropriate consent. VentCRM helps — the built-in booking and intake forms include opt-in checkboxes, and consent is recorded — but the legal responsibility for having consent, and for what your messages say, is yours as the sender.

Opt-outs are honored automatically

When a customer replies STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT), VentCRM records the opt-out and stops SMS to that person automatically. Do not attempt to work around an opt-out; that violates the Acceptable Use Policy.

Prohibited uses

  • Cold-texting purchased or scraped contact lists.
  • Marketing blasts to people who only agreed to service updates.
  • Content that is illegal, deceptive, or abusive.

Messaging abuse threatens the deliverability of every operator on the platform, so it’s the one area where we enforce quickly.
